Bichard bags Greek trial

January 15th, 2010

Young striker Kai Bichard has earned himself a trial with Greek side Saronikos FC. The team were league winners last season and are looking for some added firepower up front to help their push for back-to-back promotion. “I’m so excited to be travelling to Greece” said the ex-Fulham youngster, “I thought I would end up with nowhere to go this January but this has come out of the blue and it’s a great opportunity for me. I want to thank Pro Football Agency for setting this up for me and I hope I can get a permanent deal over there”.

After an entire youth career spent with English football we put it to Kai that it must be a daunting prospect to be facing a completely different football culture. “I’ll be honest, I’m a London boy and this is going to be something completely different, you know - out of my comfort zone. On the other hand I think you have to take these kinds of opportunities when they come around. At the end of the day all I can do is go over there play my game - if I’m good enough then hopefully something more will come of it.”

It is refreshing to see such a mature response from such a young player but this typifies Kai’s outlook on life. We all wish him the best of luck on his Greek adventure and hope that he can secure a contract for next season.
